Biography
Giovanni (John) Nave is a first-generation Australian, born and raised in Brisbane to parents from Benevento, Italy. He is married with three adult children, and is a proud nonno to two beautiful grandchildren.
John’s connection to the Italian community dates back to his teenage years through involvement with the Federazione Cattolica Italiana (FCI) Youth Group, following his father’s efforts in helping the then Wooloowin Parish Priest establish the first FCI presence in Brisbane.
With previous experience serving as both President and Treasurer of community associations, and currently holding Secretary and Treasurer roles on other committees, John brings valuable organisational experience to the club. John has a multi-trade and construction background and is currently employed by the Queensland Government as a Senior Technical Advisor.
He joined ANFE as a Committee member to help preserve and strengthen ANFE’s legacy for future generations in support of Brisbane’s Italian community. Passionate about his Italian heritage, John enjoys his vegetable garden, cooking and the traditional art of making salumi, wine, and limoncello.
He looks forward to meeting new people while also reconnecting with the many familiar faces he has grown up with throughout the Italian community.
