Biography
Born in Inglewood, Queensland, to an Italian immigrant farming family from Benevento, Campania, Italy, Rita is passionate about keeping her Italian heritage in the forefront of her life. Rita owes this to her father’s strong family values and his desire to keep his Italian roots alive even after moving to Australia.
Growing up in Brisbane, Queensland, Rita continued to maintain her Italian heritage by attending educational activities run by the Italian Consulate at both Primary and High School. As a young adult, Rita joined the Dante Alighieri Society to keep the Italian language fluent and attended many cultural events steeped in all things Italian of course!
In 2017-2019 Rita served in the position of Deputy Secretary supporting the former Secretary Concezio Ottobrandi, now Honorary Life Member of ANFE, by taking the minutes of all the meetings, and assisting with the preparation of the agenda and follow-up actions.
She then took on the role of Secretary from 2023- 2024 and at the same time looked after all the memberships as the clubs Membership Officer – a role she still carries out today.
Rita enjoys being part of ANFE and along with the ANFE Committee members, places particular importance in volunteering to help keep the Club’s objectives thriving and regenerating.
As the Club’s Membership Officer, Rita looks forward to welcoming you to join ANFE and to get to know you.
